Tu B'Shevat preparation with children

                                       TU B'SHEVAT VOCABULARY
By Torah Umesorah Educational Resource Center

Beautiful pictures of tree growth and parts make it easy to learn new Hebrew words. Parts of speech words (nouns, adjectives and verbs) are printed on cards that the children match to the correct picture. The word cards can also be used to help the students build Hebrew sentences.

Materials Needed:
• Picture cards
• Word cards
• Pink, light blue, and green paper
• Reference charts – one per student
• Velcro
Material Preparation:
1. Print the word cards as directed (nouns, adjectives, verbs) onto the colored paper.
Laminate and cut the cards.
2. Print, laminate, and cut the picture cards.
3. Place Velcro to the back of the word cards and the empty box on the picture cards. Velcro the word card to the picture card and hang on the board.
4. Continue with all the words.
5. When all words are hung up, separate the nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
6. Build a sentence using three words, adding words if necessary.
a. For example, קומע שרוש רוקעל השק.
