Description:
Make the makkos real with the vivid illustrations of this exciting matching game. Children can match up to three combinations: what happened to the Mitzri to what happened to the Jew to the name of the makkah.
Goals:children will match the correct pictures and names to the words to gain an understanding of how the Makkos affected the Mitzrim in contrast to the Jews. Children will recognize and/or practice reading the written names of the makkos.
Materials Needed:
• Makkos key card
• Makkos cards: name cards, miztri cards, and yehudi cards
Material Preparation:
1. Print, laminate and cut the cards.
1. Place the large key card on the floor.
2. Children match the cards to the key card.
3. Choose the cards to be matched according to your children ability.
4. The makkos name cards also have numbers on the back so children can match the number to the makkah.
Variation(s): • Place Velcro dots on an oak tag in a 4 columns x 10 rows grid. Attach Velcro to the back of each card. Place the names of the Makkos in order in the first column. Each makkah will have three matching cards: a picture of the Jew and the Mitzri together, a picture of the Jew, and a picture of the Mitzri.
Use the cards to play a memory game. Place name cards and Mitzri cards face down.
