Hadas Fogel (z "l)
HY"D
The Rabbi of Itamar, Rav Natan Chai, called upon the IDF to arrest the mother and aunt of the murderer following their praise for the atrocity.
"A
situation in which Israel allows the murderer to be praised encourages
the next murderer," he said. "A state cannot allow incitement to murder
its citizens. The Shin Bet and IDF must act and arrest the people who praise the murders."
The
teenage terrorist and his partner in the massacre, another young member
of the Awad clan, are members of the Popular Front for the Liberation
of Palestine (PFLP). They were assisted by at least six others, four of
them from their family.
The massacre of the Fogels took place at night on Friday night
(Sabbath), March 11. The terrorists climbed over the fence surrounding
Itamar, a Samaria community, and entered the Fogel family's home. They
stabbed to death Rabbi Ehud (Udi) Fogel, his wife Ruth, 11-year-old
Yoav, four-year-old Elad and three-month-old Hadas.
Investigators
said they were shocked by the impassionate confessions and description
of the murders by the teenagers, one of whom said he has been prepared
to become a “martyr.”
The Palestinian Authority regularly
broadcasts incitement against Israel and the Jewish people, and
glorifies murderers of Israeli civilians of all ages. It is widely accepted that incitement such as this propels murderers like the Awads to perpetrate their acts. Israel has said it would act against the incitement but has not taken any real steps in that direction. In fact, there were reports that Israel itself has lobbied the US for funding to PA institutions that incite against the Jewish state. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/152226#.TyWW2iNOlj5
