Shavua Tov

"We must donate charity before praying."
(Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, Likutey Moharan I, 2)
Although this is not a formal obligation, halachic texts advise us to give money to tzedakah before we prayer. If we would know the real meaning of this gesture, we would easily understand the strong link between tzedakah and prayer.
Giving tzedakah is an irrefutable evidence of our emunah in Hashem.
But putting a few coins in a tzedakah box, we show the Master of the world that we believe in Him and that we try to live our lives according to His will.
Is this not the ideal preparation before starting to pray?
