Shabbath Shalom
From the time that G-d said to our father Abraham "Go from your land..." and "Abraham went on, journeying southward", began the process of birurim -- of extracting the sparks of holiness that are scattered throughout creation, buried within the material existence.
By the decree of Divine providence, a person wanders about in his travels, as the Cause of All Causes brings about the many circumstances and pretexts that bring a person to those places where the sparks that belong to his or her soul await their redemption.
(Rabbi Sholom DovBer of Lubavitch)

Shabbath Shalom
For mankind to exist in harmony, we must listen to the voice that Noah heard after the flood.
We must accept that there is a set of absolute values set by the Creator of the world, values that we cannot play with to suit our convenience.
Values from beyond the subjective minds of men.
From the wisdom of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of righteous memory; words and condensation by Rabbi Tzvi Freeman.

Dalí and the Jews
The Surrealist Painter’s ‘Aliyah’ Series
At the thought of Salvador Dalí, many people envision the artist’s
famously eccentric face — his wide, cartoonish eyes and the wiry
mustache that seemed to defy gravity. Or perhaps his best-known canvas
springs to mind, that all-too-familiar scene of watches melting in a
barren landscape. According to a rising crop of scholars, however, there
is more to Dalí than his outlandish personality and surrealism. These
people wonder about the post-World War II Dalí — Dalí who wrote a
manifesto on “nuclear mysticism”; Dalí the Catholic, the optical
illusionist and, perhaps most surprisingly, the creator of Jewish art.

Singing Jews block police border
Boaz Albert of Yitzhar is continuing his battle against
administrative distancing orders. Albert, a farmer and married father of
six, has repeatedly returned to his home despite the fact that doing so could mean jail time.
He has continued to return home despite being violently arrested in August in an incident that made national headlines, and forced police to temporarily freeze their use of tasers.
Albert was handed an administrative order in August that forbids him to enter the Judea or Samaria (Shomron) regions, despite the fact that his home and business are both located in Samaria. Defense officials refused to tell Albert why he had been distanced from his home, saying the information is classified.
The Alberts attempted to fight previous distancing orders using legal means, but say they have despaired of getting justice through the courts. Instead, they have begun a campaign of nonviolent resistance.
Boaz Albert was ready for the Border Police when they came again Tuesday to take him from his home by force. He handcuffed himself to the floor of his home using a special device he created.
At the same time, youth from the area blocked police non-violently by holding a Sukkot celebration, complete with singing and dancing, in the Albert home. Other Yitzhar residents showed their support for Albert by blocking the entrance to the town.
Local activists issued an urgent call to supporters to come to Yitzhar to help them. A message from the Women in Green movement noted that it could take police "a good few hours" to open Albert's device, giving supporters time to gather to resist the arrest.
